Frequently Asked Questions

Here are some current questions about the new GP led walk-in centre

Q1 What is the new centre?

The health centre is a new doctors practice set up to serve the health needs of the Hollinwood and Failsworth.  It is a place where you will be able to access all the types of services that you would normally expect from a GP.

Q2 Who will the health centre be for?

Anybody can register with the practice. In addition we will be working with local community groups to increase opportunities for vulnerable and disadvantaged people to access healthcare services.

Q3 What are the opening times?

The centre will be open  from 8am until 7pm every week day and until 8pm on Tuesday and Wednesday.  We are also open on Saturday afternoon from 1pm until 5pm.

Q4 Who is running the centre?

The health centre is managed by a not-for-profit community interest company called Hope Citadel Healthcare which is run by doctors and several local people.

Q5 What is whole person healthcare?

Whole person healthcare recognises that good health is achieved through more than just medical treatment, for example someone suffering from stress because of debts or loss of work needs support to deal with the root issues to tackle the problems and thus remove the stress.

Treatment from a doctor can help in the meantime but this doesn’t always provide a longterm solution, and this is where whole person healthcare comes into its own and provides people with additional options and benefits.

The health centre we will be working with other groups and organisations in order to signpost additional types of whole person health and health related support that people can access.
